Quick Update

Some of you have been asking for an update, and I apologize for not being better at writing on this blog. I promise you that I have a monster one in the works which tells about my adventures thus far, but I still have yet to complete it. However, I will give everyone a quick update.

So we last left of at London. London was great. We then moved on to Berlin, where I spent two extra days before class started. Berlin was cold, and very icy, in more ways than one. It was literally cold, and icy, but it also had a very cold and icy atmosphere. You could almost sense that something bad had happened there, which as we all know, Berlin does have a pretty dark history. But overall, I enjoyed Berlin, and even more enjoyed the train ride to our next destination. Verona, Italy.

The train through the Alps was amazing. I was able to get some pictures, but unfortunately I had to delete some of the most spectacular views because you get a strange glare off of train windows when you take a picture through them (and yes, I turned off the flash).

And now, a small group of us are in Verona. It has been interesting thus far, but fun. I have discovered that I am good at interpret hand signals and gestures, and for the most part have been able to communicate clearly in return. Point in example, last night I had to ask our bus driver what stop we needed to get off at, and through both of us talking slowing and using basic words and gestures, I was able to actually get him to drive the bus right to our hotel. Not to bad.

We ventured out this morning, and found a discount grocery where I picked up some lunch meat, bread, cheese, as well as some multi-vitamin juice (I think I feel illness coming on, but I think that it has been caused by something else, which I will continue on with).

After our grocery journey, I spent the rest of the day composing a letter, filling out forms, etc., to send into the financial aid office. Apparently you can only go to school for so long and receive financial aid, and as luck would have it, this is the semester that they pull my financial aid, after I have already made that tiny skip over the pond called the Atlantic. But I got everything turned in (which I also was informed today was after the deadline), but I was told by a very nice woman from the Financial Aid office that the Appeal Committee would most likely look at my case. I should find out in a week, so if you pray, pray for me, because I need it. And if you don't, please do anyway.

I guess that this is all I'm going to write now. I have to sit in the lobby of our hotel to have internet access, and my battery is screaming to me that it is tired and wants to go to bed. Sounds like a good idea for me as well.

Till later,

Greg

P.S. The agenda for tomorrow is finding our next hostel and getting there, homework, and then finishing up my SUPERBLOG!!! Stay tuned...
